EXCLUSIVE ALBUM PREVIEW SHOW

Joanna Chapman-Smith’s new album LOVE ME DEEPLY, due for release in 2012, is being previewed at an exclusive show in Toronto at the prestigious Hugh’s Room venue on January 25th. Produced by Champan-Smith and Mat Martin in Canada and the UK, the album will present 11 new songs and a deeper, more reflective tone from the singer.

The Hugh’s Room show will be the first opportunity many have to hear some of the new songs, and will feature Rosa Smedley and Jaron Freeman-Fox. Joanna is working on album-related treats for all who attend.

THAT DIAMOND LUST FUNDED

Big thanks to all who pledged to help fund Myshkin’s new album THAT DIAMOND LUST via the awesome Kickstarter website. This week she reached the target of $3,300 to cover the release of the album she has been making over the last few years. There are six days left to go, and funding pledges are still being accepted over at the page – please take a moment to check out the video if you haven’t already and add a little more to the pot. All donations will help get the album out there and get The Ruby Warblers out on the road again.

KREG INTERVIEW AND PERFORMANCE ON NRK

KREG VIESSELMAN embarks upon his tour opening for Sivert Høyem in Norway this week, and was interviewed by NRK backstage. MAT MARTIN will be contributing articles from Canada to UK folk music website SPIRAL EARTH over the winter. He has already submitted a show review which will be followed by an interview with David Francey. You can see the introduction to his series and the first article at the Spiral Earth site.

If you’ve been waiting to get your hands on some of Kreg’s new songs, the time has come. On October 7th Sony Records Norway (SRN) will release Kreg’s new track, “Half-Baked News,” on iTunes, Spotify, Wimp, and all other digital outlets. Be sure to tune in and listen! JOANNA CHAPMAN-SMITH is leaving on tour in late October for British Columbia and Alberta, with tour dates encompassing Vancouver and several outlying towns. She will be giving a combination of duo shows with MAT MARTIN and trio shows with Mat and SALMON AVALANCHE, and the three will be giving workshops as they travel, as the core of the new SONGBIRDS TRAVELLING MUSIC SCHOOL.
